Solomon Business Solutions and Investments L.L.C., d/b/a FreightFA ("FreightFA," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through freightfa.com and our related tools (the "Service"), how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly:
- Account information — email address and password when you sign up.
- Shipment and lane data — origin, destination, weight, mode, and dates you enter for rate estimates, lane comparisons, and rate alerts.
- RFP and business data — lanes, volumes, commodities, and other details you enter into the RFP Builder or Network Builder. We treat this as confidential business information (see Section 3).
- Chat content — messages and questions you send to FreightGPT, our AI freight advisor, and any feedback you give on its responses.
- Contact and support requests — your name, email, and message when you contact us, submit a support ticket, or make an enterprise inquiry.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, browser type, and the site you came from, collected by our own analytics and, only if you accept analytics, by Google Analytics.
- Device and log data — IP address, browser type, and similar technical information.
- Coarse location details, only if you accept analytics — your browser's time zone and language, your country, region, or city if our hosting platform provides them, and a one-way hash of your IP address that changes daily. We do not store your IP address for this purpose and we do not send it to any other company.
- Return-visit identifier, only if you accept analytics — a random ID stored in your browser so we can tell that visits are from the same browser. It is not linked to your name or email unless you are signed in.
Through AI assistants (the FreightFA connector): you can connect FreightFA's tools to an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT at mcp.freightfa.com. Then:
- Tool inputs — when the assistant uses a FreightFA tool, it sends us only that tool's inputs (for example a lane's origin and destination, a weight, a DOT or MC number, or a question), and we send back the result. We don't receive the rest of your conversation; the assistant's provider handles it under its own privacy policy.
- Connector logs — for each tool call we record the tool, the time, the connecting app's ID, and your account if you're signed in. For each request to mcp.freightfa.com we record the assistant's name or browser type, the kind of request, whether it was signed in or a guest, a one-way hash of the connection's session, and our response. We don't store your IP address or access tokens in these logs.
- Guest use — if an assistant connects without signing in, we create an anonymous guest ID (no name or email) that allows a few tool calls before you're asked to sign in. Those calls are logged against that ID.
- Signed-in use — when you sign in on freightfa.com and approve the connection, the assistant can act with your account when you ask it to, such as reading your RFPs or creating a rate alert. To end that, disconnect FreightFA in the assistant's settings or email us.
Payment information: Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We don't receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles that directly under its own privacy policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Service — generate rate estimates, power the RFP Builder, run FreightGPT, send rate alerts, and maintain your account.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe.
- To communicate with you — account notices, requested support, and (only if you opt in) product updates or newsletters.
- To improve the Service — we analyze usage patterns, shipment searches, and your interactions with FreightGPT and other tools to refine our rate models, AI outputs, and features, and to fix issues.
- To maintain security — detect abuse, enforce fair-use limits, and protect the Service and its users.
3. How We Share Your Information
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication, and backend hosting), Render (application hosting), Deno Deploy (hosting for mcp.freightfa.com, the connector's address), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (transactional and marketing email), and a third-party AI service provider that generates FreightGPT's responses — your chat questions are sent to that provider to produce an answer.
- Embedded media — our Podcast page embeds Apple Podcasts, and our video player uses YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode) when you open a video. When these load, your browser contacts Google, Apple, or YouTube directly, and they receive your IP address and browser details under their own privacy policies. This happens whether or not you accept analytics in our cookie banner.
- Location lookups — when you use location autocomplete, your search text is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim and Photon services to return matching places. When you request a rate, the origin and destination you enter are sent to Geocodio (and to Nominatim or Photon as a backup, or for places outside the US, Canada and Mexico) to find their locations and measure the distance.
- Public data sources — Carrier Lookup queries the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) public API using the DOT/MC number you provide; no other personal data is sent.
- Legal reasons — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of FreightFA or others.
- Business transfers — if FreightFA is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
RFP and lane data you submit is business-sensitive. We restrict access to it through database-level access controls (Row Level Security) so that only you — and FreightFA staff where necessary for support or security — can view it. We don't share it with other customers or use it to benefit a competitor.
4. Cookies & Analytics
When you first visit, our cookie banner asks whether we may use Google Analytics, record your approximate location, and set a return-visit identifier. If you decline, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a decline and none of these are used. You can change your choice at any time with "Cookie Settings" in the site footer. If you accept and later decline, we delete the location records tied to your browser's identifier and remove the identifier.
Our own basic product analytics runs regardless of your choice: pages viewed, features used, your browser type, and the site you came from, tied to a random ID that lasts only for your browser session (plus your account, if you are signed in). If you search or chat without an account, we create an anonymous guest ID so those features work; we attach it to this analytics only if you accept analytics. We use it to keep the Service working and to improve it. It is not shared with advertisers.
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and Google processes that data under its own privacy policy. You can also opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings. Blocking cookies may affect some functionality.
5. Data Retention
We keep your account and usage data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Location records and return-visit identifiers collected with your analytics consent are deleted automatically after 12 months. You can request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 6).
6. Your Rights & Choices
Regardless of where you're located, you can ask us to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate information;
- Delete your account and associated personal information;
- Export your data in a portable format; and
- Opt out of marketing emails (every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link) or analytics tracking (Section 4).
To exercise any of these rights, email info@freightfa.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're a California resident, these rights are consistent with those provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA); we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), database-level access controls, and restricted internal access — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to identify and address risks on an ongoing basis.
8. International Users
FreightFA is based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the U.S. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
